This tour is led by a foodie who is a friend of Sita and a Thimphu local. She knows the best eating joints in Bhutan’s capital city; from a compact dumpling outlet to high-end dining options at Thimphu’s plush restaurants.
She will take you to the local market and will introduce you to stores and vegetable vendors, who keep the best stock of chillies, cheese, flour and other ingredients.
She will then drive you to a Farm House, where you will learn to cook Bhutanese dumplings for dinner. The landlady who owns the Farm House will have the remaining dishes ready. While at the farmhouse, she will also introduce you to the different varieties of chillies available in Thimphu and show you how to prepare fresh chilly chutney and a chilly-cheese dish.
Don’t worry, you will be in safe hands and the chilly dishes can be toned down as per your palette !
