There is excitement in the air in India as The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare announced new guidelines for international travellers coming to India. The new guidelines came into effective from February 14, 2022.
Easing the travel restrictions for travel to India by eliminating the quarantine and RT-PCR testing brings a positive signal to the destination.
India has announced the cancellation of the 7-day quarantine for foreign arrivals, and recommends self – monitoring for 14-days. The need for undertaking RT-PCR test on the eighth day and uploading the same on Air Suvidha portal has also been dispensed with.

According to the new guidelines, all foreign arrivals must fill a self-declaration form (available at the Air Suvidha portal), including a travel history of the past 14 days.
Travellers are required to upload a negative RT-PCR test conducted within 72 hours of the travel date.
Alternatively, they can also upload a certificate confirming they have received both vaccine doses. This option, however, is only available to countries with mutual recognition of Covid vaccine certificates with India.
